Where the Wild Things Are
    #11263510 - 10/17/09 02:53 AM (8 years, 3 days ago)

Anyone else see this yet? I usually don't see movies in the theatre but someone offered to pay so I got on that. All I can say right now, due to being stoned/tired, is that it is so good. Do see it. I laughed, I almost cried...I crapped my pants.

I had a chance to see it for free tonight at my college's theater but decided to not go see it.
now you're making me wish I had gone.

I thought that, did a search and the first ones were all done in April. Too lazy right now to look past that. Just see the movie.

I didn't see the movie either.  I just love the "I crapped my pants" part.

Still, it does look pretty good.

Oooooooh... It's directed by Spike Jonez.

I thought it was directed by Spike Lee, and was an allegory about white kids who want to be black.

This makes much more sense. :yesnod:

Yeah man you should have gone. I woke up this morning reflecting on the movie as if it were some strange dream I had just woken up from. I want to see it again, next time maybe on shrooms :yesnod: It was visually stunning, moved at the perfect pace, I didn't feel bored or confused at any moment, I was totally enveloped in the movie. It was a bit more dark and solomn then I expected though, not that that's a bad thing.

April? You mean, October 2009?

Was it really that good? Looked like a kids movie to me. I loved the book when I was younger, but that ain't enough to make me go see it.

Yeah that's what I was thinking, looks kinda childish.

The movie is not childish at all, its about a kid...yes. But its pretty deep actually.

Definitely NOT recommended for children though, they would not understand what really is going on between the Wild Things and Max

I kind of got that feel from the movie but the commercials were way too childish.

I'll have to check the movie out.

It was awesome!

I saw it with my girlfriend last night. I was high and bit skeptical at first, thinking that it was going to be a complete waste of time and money.

Surprisingly, I thought the film was intrinsically deep and compassionate. So many characters had deep, metaphorical meanings to their existence. Watching Max progress through the movie reminded me of my own trials and tribulations as a child. I give it a 9 out of 10.

Quite a thoughtful film.
