Bridgesii Germination time?
    #11263098 - 10/17/09 12:49 AM (8 years, 1 month ago)

Anyone know of the general germination period for these little buggers?

I've read for San Pedro it's anywhere from 2-14 days. What can I expect to first see? Little spikes?

You'll see little green things that look like....hmmmmmm

Dunno quite how to describe it, but spines usually arent seen for a week or more.

1-2 weeks is probably a good estimation of germination time.

They look like little green things that have two leaves sticking up that look like horns.  The 'horns' slowly seperate and spines begin to grow out from between them. Germination time depends on heaps of things, but they should show up after a week or two. I often find a couple popping up a few months after the majority. It will take at least a week after germination for the first spines to be visible. And it will take probably 3 years before they are large enough to eat.

I planted a bunch and noticed them as early as 4 days and as late as 2 weeks.

They should start popping up soon, sometimes they're just a bit slower. I noticed they germinate slower when given less heat.

I think it's been 5-6 days and I'm now seeing some babies pop up. Little white stems with furry white roots. Looks almost like a fungus on the bottom.

Very excited!
