libertaire, I see what you mean. Another possibility to consider with this technique is that you could (maybe) theoretically make a block of mycelium of ANY size. What's to stop you from repeating this cycle for weeks until you have a bathtub-size block of colonized substrate?

Wow, that's a great point.  Kind of scary to think about, but interesting also.  I wonder what the yield from a bathtub sized substrate would be, haha.

That's actually a project I'm working on right now, Spawned a tub of orissa's on WBS cased 50/50 to cow dung and straw, Its colonizing nicely but we'll see if it does anything, If it does then I don't see why it couldn't be treated like G2G as long as one is careful and go larger and larger
