Although i may advise others in a general way regarding all types of mushroom grows, and may even post question from other forums about growing "active" mushrooms, i only grow non-"active" mushrooms and edibles.

Also, I'm starting to see white grow in "puddles" around the seeds. Is this myc?

probably not... if u get the water content too high i've noticed the wbs tends to get that white nasty sperm-like mess around the bottom of the jar. especially if a lot of the shells were cracked from over saturation from simmering either too hot or too long.
