Mushroom Id Again

I have a mushroom that looks almost exactly like this exept with a straight stem, it was growing by itself out in a field. It has a white skirt(or veil, not sure on the difference yet)and the edge of the cap has ridges that remind me of the ridges on a quarter. It does not seem to be bruising any color at the moment. I live in Northwest Arkansas.

The pic says cube to me, the description doesn't. I recommend you do a spore print on foil and tell me whether it was growing out of dung or dirt.

Its pretty easy to confuse mushrooms when you first start identifying them. We would have to see pics to give you a positive id. I would not consume any mushroom you find without pics and 100% positive id.

If i had to guess i would say you have found Chlorophyllum molybdites. google it.

It was out of soil with tons of rotten wood around. By the way I will try to get pictures on the net as soon as possible, I have been having(how do you spell having) computer problems.

That would be great. It may be terrestrial, it may be a wood-lover, only time will tell. Also, sticking it in the freezer while;e you wait for a camera might help preserve the fruit for a better pic. I can't tell you how many times I've picked something only to have it dry out while I wait for a camera.

Finding a random mushroom, hoping it is active, then getting home and typing "magic mushroom" into google image search and finding the photo which most closely resembles your mushroom is NOT a good way to identify mushrooms...  Just so you know.

The marks that resemble the edge of a quarter are probably what would be described as a striate margin.  Like this:
