A. Western PA. Growing in Pine needles and moss under ever greens. These are the disected mushroom pictures. I am curently obtaining a spore print of said mushroom. The whole mushroom is quite dense and was very well rooted. Cross cut of the stem exibeted the same charastic throughout the cross cut stem. Removal of the cap was easy. Would lead me to believe detached gills. Veil had not decended and the cap pulling off the stem reminded me of taking my wifes panty hose off! In the cap where you can see in the picture, there was a inner part from the cap leading back down the inside of the stem. I did not chop the cap in half so as to get the best spore print.
B. This mushroom is in the same spot but further in between the trees. Several stages of this shroom were taken. Cap was dense feeling but the stem was somewhat hollow and fibrus. Delicut stem and in the moss very lightly.
