cutting holes for a still-air box
    #11256299 -

I was trying to cut arm holes in a sterilite and found that a razor blade didn't work so well. How do people get nice even 4" or so diameter holes in thick plastic?

patience..
believe it or not, i melt all my holes..
melt then trim..

but a razor and patience works fine..

squares are easier to cut..

Although i may advise others in a general way regarding all types of mushroom grows, and may even post question from other forums about growing "active" mushrooms, i only grow non-"active" mushrooms and edibles.

Large size cans.  I used the can from a family size refried beans. ~P~

EDIT: And remember to put the holes in the front of the tub, not the sides.

Christianity has a built-in defense system; anything that questions a belief, no matter how logical the argument is, is the work of Satan by the very fact that it makes you question a belief. It's a very interesting defense mechanism and the only way to get by it is to take massive amounts of mushrooms, sit in a field, and just go "Show me."

If you have a decent drill, a holesaw works wonders. (Not just for boxes but also for monotubs...)

Cheers.

Turn the stove burner up all the way. Set an empty coffee can on the hot burner until the can gets really hot. (Using oven mitts, obviously,) grab the hot can and use it to make your arm holes.

Easy, clean, and effective.

Thanks all

From all I've learned here, I'm just about ready to get it rolling.  It's "little" details like this that can get me wondering.  Been playing with sclerotia and plan to do Burma. I want to skip PF [although it sounds cool] and do a spawn to coir.

I'd have little chance without you guys.  I'll keep you posted.

You can also lay it down on it's side with the open top facing you. Cover that with a garbage bag with holes cut into it.
