Where in the PNW

I want to move out there. I've had my eye on Colorado for a long time but there is something good I feel about the American North West that attracts me to it. I can really see myself making a home there, surrounded by its beautiful scenery and mild marine climate. :earth:

I know a lot of you live out there, especially in Oregon. Why do you live there and what do you love about it that makes you stay? Also what is Washington like? :peace:

I've started to look at Portland and am just seeing if there are any other places of interest I should look into before deciding to fly up there for a weekend.

This is a PNW thread so tell me all about it! :laugh:

dude i don't even know where to start. its fucking beautiful. mountains, the coast, the forest...all of it. i'm in Portland. (actually just outside of the city) I love it here.

Just playing, I value your input. How long have you lived there? I've been looking at pictures and  saw a panorama of Portland and it's totally gorgeous. Any info on the cost of living in the city of Portland? Job availability?

Also what's the culture like? Are people there as environmentally conscious as it is said they are? :earth:

Im in Oregon for school.  Ill likely leave after I graduate though, the economy and job prospects here suck.  But it sure is a beautiful place.

The moss is the reason I want to move there. I want to move to the mossiest place possible.
The mushrooms are something else too. I had such bountiful hunts out there that when I came back here I was disenchanted by the whole thing and couldnt get into it like I used to.

I've lived here in Portland a long time and love it. You got the coast, the forest, the farmland, the city, and the mountains. Oregon is like 2nd or 3rd in t he US for unemployment rates right now. Cost of living isn't too bad here, but I don't really have much to compare too. Also, it seems like our drugs are cheaper here then most places. (ie. 1/8th oz kind bud for $40). As far as culture goes its very, idk... Its cool. I don't know how to describe it. :shrug:

Marijuana laws are great in Oregon, but some other states have it better such as California and Massachusettes. Not sure if you are even into marijuana, but you can have up to an oz. and its only a misdemeanor, max penalty is $1000 and a year in jail, but i've never heard of anyone getting jail time for possession and its common for them to ask you to throw away your weed if you get caught.

Seems Portland has a lot of hidden problems that aren't readily apparent on the surface. High unemployment, bad drivers, the taxes, lack of funding for public schools, just a few things I gathered while reading up on it for the past hours.. I'm also starting to doubt whether I'd like the weather because I am a person who loves sunshine.

Time to keep looking. Maybe Denver is where it's at after all..
