The 'oceanic' feeling of freedom is not what we are. It is a regression to what we were as a baby or small child. However, an argument against this is that the adult 'oceanic' feeling is totally different from the former because it is a conscious experience based upon understanding.

We are everything, but there is no-one who is. There was never a separation between the person we are and the totality of reality. Just so there is no separation between sound and hearing. They are simultaneous and depend completely upon one another.

We don't feel what we are because we think about what we could be. The very thought creates a difference that doesn't exist. Maybe we should simply 'be as we are', not as we think to be.

Wishful thinking based in all the aspects of death anxiety IMO.

Promising philosophy & hollow words if not actually followed through...

Saying, 'go beyond the mind, feel who you are' is great
But if the words are left on the page, not so great
Then they are just words, not beyond the mind

Really nobody ever wants to go beyond the mind
Thats just the mind dressing up again

'I' is already beyond the mind
To see/feel that is to consciously go beyond the mind

:peace:

Good thought. But what's beyond mind ? Is it really us ? Or only society, genetics, brain functions...
Maybe mind is us.

And what has feeling to do with it ? Without mind, there's no feeling.

Go beyond the mind . . sure.

Feel what you are . . ok.

I feel hungry.

I feel sad.

I feel happy.

I feel expansive.

I feel love.

What we feel is always changing. But there are some aspects that remain the same. Biological inheritances, perhaps? Maybe it's the will to live, expand, grow.

Is "I" then, static or dynamic? Maybe a mix of the two . . in just the right proportions.

Who the hell knows what we are.

I think having a strong emotional relationship with yourself is good...... no know AND feel who/what you are.

But, to say leave the mind behind on your dance off to fairy land, good luck AFTER you climb into the packed sauna which is then sealed airtight..............
