To those with straw laundry basket experience...
    #11254209 - 10/15/09 05:46 PM (8 years, 11 months ago)

Dear reader,
If you're reading this I hope you have done a laundry basket straw grow before. I'm pursuing one with blue oysters. I wish to ask how much spawn you had luck with when constructing your basket. I've heard 2 qts and 4 qts.
I know it can vary along with wait time...so what's your experience?

RR has a great dvd that shows making a straw basket as you want to.

The real answer depends on how much straw use use.

If my memory is correct, RR used 7 quarts in his basket.

Good Luck.

Check out his video - he has a free clip on his web site.  Look under the sponsor's tab.

yeah, he doesn't say anything in his video about amount of spawn...
And yes I know the ratios matter (amount of straw, size of basket)
Guess I just want to hear others experiences

Use about one part spawn per ten to fifteen parts straw by volume.
