Casing Question
    #11250456 - 10/15/09 03:08 AM (8 years, 1 month ago)

I mixed in some cakes with pasteurized horse manure, and have been waiting for a couple weeks, but All I see is some white spots, and  a lot of white web on top. Why is it not cultivating like it's supposed to? I sprayed it with some H2O2 water. Should I go ahead, and make the coco coir/vermiculite layer? Thanks

It sounds like it stalled due to contaim or bacteria or just cause it didnt like you.  No point in casing go on to the next thing and toss it

Nope you can bury it if your climate is right, but that depends on where you live.  But really there is nothing you can do

Well, it is too cold now, and My back yard is a concrete pad. Not a chance. It doesn't look like like it's contaminated except some white cob-webs on a couple of those casings. I really had high hopes for them...:frown:

Well, since I'm at the spawning phase, would it help if I adjust the temperature and/or the moisture content?

Honestly you can try whatever but the chances are slim that anything will happen.  I have never been able to restart a stalled sub

It happens to every one. Don't feel bad. just rinse and repeat from step 1 making sure you are taking all the sanitary precautions available.

Good thing I decided not to put all my eggs in one basket, and have some cakes growing on the side.
