So I wanna try some bagged cow shit compost..
    #11248132 - 10/14/09 08:55 PM (8 years, 11 days ago)

I have read all about Black Kow.. I have a plan for it.. but I found this other stuff by Timberline that is way cheaper..

http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1vZ1xg2/R-100348881/h_d2/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10053

Though, Black Kow states "no fillers" ..so, maybe this Timberline crap has more twigs and stuff in it.

Anyone tried it?

If not, I will get a bag of both and see.. just wondering.

FYI: I know this stuff is crapier than horse crap.. I think I said that right.. Just trying some things, as I do..

hmmm it doesnt say anything about compost.  I have had pretty good results with store bought with 25% compost i just pick out the sticks and stems like smoking sess.  Anyways I would love to know if this shit works for you they have home depot's up  here and maybe they carry it here too

Let your bag of manure air out. Cut it into brick sized chunks. Mix with 50/50 straw add verm, gypsum and coffee in appropriate amounts. Works well in mono tubs. Good luck

I saw a thread saying cow dung works for Pans.. hpoo/straw is better of course, but nothing about these Cow products specifically. I bet it could be worked out though.

yea fuck im a city boy straw and hpoo are elusive no walmart carries straw and the only place to get HPOO that I can think of is the police stables havent worked up enough courage to follow a mounted cop around with a bag yet.  Soon if the store bought doesnt work i am totally determined to grow some pans.  Got an cinctulus LC going right now and one of my boys is sending me a cyan LC hopefully it works.

"cinctulus LC"  You have to let me know how those work out.

I have no straw or local poo either..

Check this out:
http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/10239704#10239704

I would just apply that to this store bought cow compost, and see.

Dude you can get straw at hobby lobby this time of year. And there's a horse stable near every city google stables in your area and you can get the shit. The resources are there if you just do the foot work.

I know that it is the wrong time of year now but do you guys and gals have a county fair in the fall? One with animals? You know, where us 4H geeks show off our prized ponies and stuff? Or a racetrack in your area? Horse racing is pretty popular. Either one will gladly give you all the poo you can haul out. Most of the time it is already mixed with straw.
I'm just throwing this out there because I see it all over the place. Chicago, New York, Detroit it's all the same street.
Find an off track betting parlor and then find out where the nearest races are. I'm not being a smartass here. There really are ways to find the stuff.
Also a lot of your nurseries and craft stores will have straw. Even if they are small bales. Especially this time of year.
But if you can't find it, yes; blackow or the equivalent will work.
