Is it common to find gold under $1000 right now?
    #11246221 - 10/14/09 03:57 PM (8 years, 9 months ago)

I find larger bars(2-3 oz) and i divide the price by total grams and then multiply that number by 28, i get the upper $900 level.  Not assayed...some assayed.

Is this common?

gold spot is $1062/oz right now, so something is fishy about such a low price.  i wouldn't buy non-assayed.

Are you multiplying troy oz?  not assayed i'd be suspicious. I buy coins and jewelry at below spot pretty often so maybe you're lucky.

100 gram Pamp Suisse on apmex for 3475.  3475/100 = 34.75 * 28 = 973, while gold's in the 1050 area.

28.3?  $983

The ounce is the most ridiculous unit of measurement still in common use.  Not only is it applied to both masses and volumes, but there are several different mass ounces and several volume ounces...

Dumb.

:whatever:
