CobWeb Mold is Evil
    #11246043 - 10/14/09 03:26 PM (8 years, 9 months ago)

hey folks...

well i birthed my cake on monday and all of them now have cobweb mold on them.  is there
anyway of saving them or should i just chuck them???

and they were in my fruiting chamber so does that mean my chamber is contaminated??  i
have one more cake i haven't birth yet and i'm worried if i put it in the chamber it'll get mold
too.  PLEASE HELP!!

if its just wispy white fluff on the top dry verm barrier its all good. Cob web is rare in jars and alot of people confuse the wispy myc on the top with cob web.

Also the fluffy wispy myc they form after being placed in the Fruiting chamber is normal

just hit is with some H2o2 a few times for a day and they should be good

Take a Pic

Honestly you need a high resolution and excellent focus to get a good picture of the whispy strands of cobweb, and those pics don't have either. Worse comes to worse you can wait another day and leave them in the FC, it will be more clear as it develops.

yea i really need to invest in a new camera....

so i place them all back in my FC and i guess i'll just wait a few days to check on them again.
thanks for all the help guys!!

You're fine. If it's blechy white and fuzzy and growing past that roll layer that's just a sign of healthy myc! Exactly what I saww when I did this a week or two ago. now I have considerable fruit.

cobweb mold looks like an old mans beard... Once you have it, you will KNOW its cobweb. It's hard to confuse the 2 once you have gotten it.

But you look to be ok, Not cobweb imo
