Growing Oysters Indoors?

Anyone know of a good way to do it. I keep reading they need lots of FAE and lots of humidity and lots of light. How do I give them all 3 indoors? Looking for a cheap way of doing something. Any ideas?

These straw logs were placed on a dresser next to the TV and loosely covered with a sheet of plastic. Misted a few times daily and lit by a daylight fluorescent tube. I'm sure they would have done even better in a simple greenhouse.
The biggest concern with oysters is FAE. They will fruit very poorly without tons of fresh air; even a shotgun FC is on the low end of necessary FAE. Oysters can tolerate lower humidity than cubes, but the FAE must be much higher.
Temperature is another important factor in oyster fruiting. They are colder species and do best in mid-50s to 60s, if the temperature is higher they produce thin caps without much substance.

So if I put them in the bag it should maintain a High RH right? Would I need to build a humidity tent then? Or will it be fine just sitting in my closet?

Note wygram's post. The key to oysters is FAE. Getting to 100% colonization is much the same as growing cubes, like the bag for example. I have yet to work with any edibles. If I were you, I would make some logs. After 100% colonization add your slits in the plastic and viola! I'd also take the advice about temperature. Growing thin oysters makes no sense. You want some meat on those babies! Yum. The closet will work for colonization. It's the fruiting conditions that are different than cubes. I want to try the Blues. They are awesome looking!

lol well the closet is cold. So i'm fruiting them in there.....but what I need to know is if just putting slits in the bag will make them pin.

This has an excellent comparison of what different temps, CO2, and humidity will do to different types of oysters

Thanks man already read both those. But what I need to know is if I put them in sacks and cut slits in the sacks will they have their own little humid environment? Or will I still have to mist and shit.

they have their own environment. You stuff the logs, cut the tiny slits or holes, let fully colonize, and it will fruit from the holes when it's ready.

Trip its all pretty easy oyster r some strong mushrooms.. get like ice bag or a bread bag or newspaper bag.. stuff if with your substrate. poke holes with big nails (about the size of # 2 pencils every 4 to 6 inchs.. let them sit in the dark for 5 days, check them. if the logs looked cover or u see bulges coming outta those holes just sit them where they can get light (not direct sun), u don't want moving air on them all the time, mist once twice a day( or not at all) and u will get some oysterss. For your first attempt just hang them in a room away from the vents or strong moving air mist them . u will get a flush. have u gotten the culture yet??

I did LC.. I am sure G2G is fine.. but, I live in a wheat straw free zone (damn it).. if you have palm trees around, I made something else that works.. or go just paper.. straw FTW.

for wheat straw check your local farmers co-op and sometimes nurserys will sell it this time of year for decorating for halloween and thanksgiving. wheat straw is all over around here for 4 a bale 3 if ya know the man good. if ya can't find it use newspaper. that was one thick culture wasn't it? i would just make a Quart jar of lc with karo go like 3 percent maybe 4.. i use some peptone in mine but ya ain't got it so just shoot about 4 cc/s into that culture and shake it once a day . it should be ready to go in 5 days maybe a little longer..what did ya think about the nial in it lol.. if it didn't leak any it worked
