The thrill of the hunt
    #11240808 - 10/13/09 07:07 PM (8 years, 9 months ago)

I've been hunting mushrooms for about a month now, collecting each specimen in a bag with its name and making a scrap book out of each specimen! My question is, if not dried and stored in a ziplock bag will they still rot? I've got a few that I picked about two weeks ago and they still look good, but I dont wnat my collection to go raw!

Does anyone else have a fungus collection they could post a link to so I can see it?

I recommend doing that all online on mushroomobserver.org, that way you can search it easily and your research is available to others.

When you create an observation it will have a number.  Write that number on the bag and keep it in your herbarium (aka cardboard box) for later study.

They will not rot however it is possible that bugs will get them.
