I've just been flicking through Saturdays paper and saw an article about evil criminal hard drug users which reckons nearly 2.2 million Brits use shrooms regularly, more than any other class A drug?!
I dunno about anyone else but that figure sounds like total crap to me. I know far more people who use E's and cocaine at weekends, and assuming an average dose of 2g thats over 4 million dried grams being consumed in whatever time frame 'regularly'' is.
There must be some people with a lot of time on their hands if they manage to pick that amount in the month or so that the shroom season lasts here

Yeah that sounds like total BS. I don't know anyone who is a regular "shroomer". But 'E' speed and coke are the most common.

Not read that but i would guess it was the dail mail, that paper is full of crap.

Let me guess, it's some bollocks crusade to outlaw mushrooms now.
I wish there were that many people doing shrooms regularly, what a lovely country this would be.

I've always wondered if everybody's going on vacation and not answering their phones if they're actually hiding out having a psychedelic experience like people I'd never expect  we can never really know how popular these shroomies really are until people lighten up about them, which may be the whole point of that article.

My friend told me about this and I told him it was crap. There's millions of pills that dropped every weekend. I rekon pills would be top of the class A's followed by coke, then maybe mushrooms or acid.

That article has got to be rubbish...... i live in the Leeds area and have NEVER even heard of people growing/selling shrooms, whereas pills/coke are sold pretty much everywhere.
The odd few people go mushy picking in season....but thats like less than 1% of the people i know.
News papers need to get their facts right before they start printing things about drugs, especially drugs that most people know nothing about.

Shrooms are only legal when they are fresh..... make any attempt to prepare them and they become a class A drug....so we cant really stock up on them because that would mean drying them.

Come on, this is the british press here. When the fuck did they ever get their facts straight before printing an article? Especially about drugs. Anything for a sensational headline, stir up middle england.
I asked my psychiatrist once if he'd done shrooms and he wouldn't tell me. There's such a stigma about them. They're seen as evil Pagan things and in our WASP society that sort of hippy shit is totally unacceptable, even if they are legal.
One day there will be 2 million regular shroom users, but until then we few must carry that burden, hard though it is.
