meat thermometer preferences?

Anybody have preferences? Seems like you can get a digital or analog for around 5-10$.

i searched my supermarket..they have meat therms... their all 5 bucks....but none have the clip that clips on the side of the pots..i heard a good one is like 20 bucks......

yeah im afraid a digital one wont hold up to the steam. Although I probably wont leave them in the jars, just put them in real quick for a temp reading

I like my analog Acu>rite (I know it says "do not put in water".. they are referring to dunking the gauge face itself) Reads steam and water temps great via the stem/probe. This is on the top of my pasteurization bucket. I have compared this to my Fluke DMM probe and my Blue Point laser thermometer.. all 3 agree on temps with a few degrees of each other.
