wash them out by hand or run them through the dishwasher. don't get too hung up on contamination. when they have been pressure cooked with substrate in them they will be as good as new. No molds or bacteria worth worrying about can survive 45 minutes in a pressure cooker.

Agreed with what's posted above. I sterilize contaminated jars and then dump out under water in a bucket full of soapy water to make sure I don't get mold spores all over my house.

you can simply wash them and boil them for a bit before using them

but as said above, PCing them will kill contam anyway..

:pm: me if you have questions about lasers

Although i may advise others in a general way regarding all types of mushroom grows, and may even post question from other forums about growing "active" mushrooms, i only grow non-"active" mushrooms and edibles.

That's fine, sometimes I will bleach soak jars/rings/lids that I think needed it. Then they get a once over cleaning, and another cleaning in the dishwasher. By then they are ready to PC.

I have reused jars in my All American PC for years and years. No matter what they grew.
