Kratom & benzos will get you through it the smoothest.
Although using kratom can prolong withdrawal symptoms, if you have enough you can gradually ride it out instead of going cold turkey (unless you WANT to go cold turkey...)

Anyways, good luck. I just went through this shit a few weeks ago.

does kratom actually have similar effects to opes?

or does it just help rid some symptoms of withdrawal?

1. Take benzodiazepines.

2. Muscle relaxants.

3. Strong antihistamines.... strangely..... it works!

4. Wean yourself with synthetic opioid painkillers. Like methadone, but less strong.

5. PLAY VIDEO GAMES CONSTANTLY! If you can't play video games, you can't quit drugs. Seriously. Video games are the key to quitting drugs.

6. If you can't play video games, knock yourself out doing awesome athletic shit! Learn how to scuba, or canoe, or rock climb. Dedicate your free time to being out in nature. It's intensely calming for the time after you've lost your physical dependence and are battling the depression and boredom. Fill you life with meaningful things.

You could go to a detox.. if they have any in your area. I've been to them before. Works pretty good, except that you have to stay for 5 days or so.

I find that soaking in a hot bath or hot tub also really helps temporarily relieve pain. Taking strong Tylenol/ibuprofen doses helps a little bit. Benzos and other downers, as already mentioned can help, but beware of cross addictions. Drinking hot liquids such as teas, hot chocolate, soups, (my favorite for this occasion being chicken noodle.)

I wouldn't suggest replacing whatever opiate you are taking for different opiate, even if a weaker one. It will reset the withdrawal symptoms. I'd also advise staying away from methadone clinics (been there myself), as you can end up getting stuck on it for years.. and it's way harder to get off of than other opiates. The withdrawal for that shit is 10 times worse than any opiate and lasts way longer. Even when the strong physical part is gone after a few weeks, the insomnia lasts months. I've heard of people being awake for 40+ days straight. It only kept me up for 3 weeks or so.

Chocolate does wonders.
I just ride it out usually.
Hmmm.
Fruits, exercise, etc.
I don't recommend taking pills to help a withdrawal.
I know they work wonders, but that might just be another withdrawal waiting to happen.

Both.. it partially works on your opioid receptors, but I wouldn't call the buzz anything amazing.

I use it to get by, especially to sleep at night once I went through my detox.. It definitely helps when you're in withdrawal.

i dont know if i could go through with detox,
just sends chills down my spine.
i also dont want it on my record, idk if detox goes down on it.

im already having to go to this narcotics awareness class.

the hot bath idea is good though.
wiff some chicken noodle.
i think ill try that, along with some heavy acetaminophin and ibuprofen.

appreciate the help.

im just sick of not being able to get up out of my bed,
and feeling like i fell out of a fucking train and rolled down a mountain afterwards.

whats the point of being in bed if youre not going to sleep?
just swim around in your own sweat night after night.  :puke:

Usually detox centers are completely confidential if I remember correctly. They can't release information to anyone without first getting your permission. Nobody.. law enforcement, friends, or family could find out. I'd check with them to make sure though first.
It's mostly painless too. Most of them use suboxone or subutex(same active ingredient) and taper it down painlessly. By the time you leave, the only symptoms will be mild insomnia and discomfort. You can leave any day you want too. The one here is free for people with no insurance too, the state pays for it.

Anyway, it's just a possibility, if things get too bad that you can't control them yourself. It's better to do at home, if you can make it. Going somewhere is a pain. And having to explain to people why you were away, etc. Good luck to ya either way.

If you could even obtain suboxone from a private doctor, or elsewhere, you could do it yourself. They start it at 16 mg the first day, then - 12mg, 8, 4, 2, 0. Then it's done.

its worth a try. i've never used it for withdrawl or anything, but i can see how it might help take the edge off. also... marijuana. if you smoke. it can work wonders in situations such as this.

good luck. its a difficult road, but your future self with thank you.

I definitely recommend having a stash of kratom around for any opiate user who'd like something around to help with potential withdrawals...

I always get the Bali from kratomcats.net.
