I did run across that recipe and will probably make it at some point. thank you for the response. I really think I want to find a recipe for the store bought style more then I actually want to make them, It just seems like this recipe should be at the top of the google results or at least easy to find.

try this recipe:
http://www.instructables.com/id/LeGummies_brick_shaped_gummy_candies/

but if you want sour ones, instead of vitamin c (eww wtf) use citric acid or something, im sure u can find a better fruit/vegetable acid at a brew shop instead of resorting to vitamin c pills.

sure, thats for gummies though, im pretty sure what your talking about is alot more of a solidified goo, right?

http://www.tasteofhome.com/Recipes/Orange-Jelly-Candies
thats alot closer to the recipe, though im sure they probably use a bunch of artificial flavorings in most lunchbox fruit snacks, and they probably roll them in powdered sugar instead of granulated sugar to keep them from being sticky

the "goo" is mostly pectin, while the gummies are gelatin, im sure u could even mix them up to make your own unique texture

fruit juice seems to be big for flavoring

plz let us know how it goes.

Yeah!  Please, update with your (hopefully) success.  I'd like to see how they turn out.  Let us know which recipe you used to.

Good luck!

The way I eat candy, I don't know if stoney treats would be such a good idea. :stoned2:

made both kinds the gummies worked out well but the pectin ones just turned out like runny sugar goo. I want to try that recipe again because I did not follow it exactly and my results were not as described.
