Bummer
    #11234201 - 10/12/09 06:22 PM (8 years, 13 days ago)

Broke my ankle (Fibula) hiking last Sunday, I lost my balance on a steep hill & twisted my ankle as I slid down... I heard a nice popping sound too.
Wish it could have been a better story, haha, this is definitely the wussiest way I've ever broken anything, but oh well...

I stopped taking my pain medicine last night, so today I finally got out of bed and started moving around some.
I'm out of commission for 6 weeks, so I guess this gives me a lot of 'focus' time to put towards my research.

This is the 4Th time I've broken a bone.... if anyone else has any injury stories, I'll find solace in reading them  I'm also really bored... Thanks.

Watch out for those slick hills
Cheers all.

Had to get back in my car and drive back home all the while barely able to lift my arms to the steering wheel. I couldnt lift my arms at all for around a week. couldve been a lot worse. I have also cracked my head open good a few times cause i wasnt wearing a helmet. hope im not too brain damagamaged

i was born with a joint in my ankle and had to have bone cut out to make one. it's like a 1 in 10,000 chance that i had it. never broke anything though.

People say that what we're all seeking is a meaning for life. I don't
think that's what we're really seeking. I think what we're seeking is an
experience of being alive, so that our life experiences on the purely
physical plane will have resonances within our own innermost being and
reality, so we can actually feel the rapture of being alive.:flowerchild:

One time I was standing behind my brother when he was doing a handstand and his heel ripped open my skin directly above my eye, had to get 8 stitches like an inch above my eye, and I was only 9 at the time, it was a little traumatizing :P

P.S you should get some more painpills from the doc and buy some dank, and have a good time off :borat:

Sorry to hear about your ankle. Use the time off your feet wisely. Be constructive or play mass amounts of video games lol

My broken bones story is I walking along a 6 1/2 ft tall fence and I got my pants stuck on one of the posts. I'm 6'3" so it was a good almost 13 feet my face fell and slammed in to the concrete. Broke a finger when I put my hands out to soften the fall and split my bone from my right eye socket down to my upper jaw and the bone was sticking through my gums. You can feel a dip in the bottom half of my right eye socket. Also had a nice gash on my right eyebrow which got stitched up.

Always thought I'd never break a bone since I had been so lucky since then with all the stupid shit I used to do. Needless to say that experience made me rethink the dumbass things I was doing.

I broke my ankle about 10 years ago, I took a jump I knew I could make,
only about 18 feet, I hesitated at the last second and fell about a foot
short, just enough to nail the embankment, I had to walk back to my truck
about a mile away and then drive to a hospital another 100 miles away, by
the time I'd gotten there my ankle looked like a basketball and my shoe
was so tight it was killing the circulation

the injury slowed me down a little but certainly didnt stop me, I went out
clubbing the next weekend, no cast, just crutches, I dueled at the ren
fair regardless... I managed to win several beers in the hatchet
throwing which warmed me up for the fencing

had a few broken ribs on several occasions, nothing close to the
stupidity of the ankle
