Very hungry, please help :)
    #11234169 - 10/12/09 06:16 PM (8 years, 11 days ago)

Wondering around a country side in north west Germany lets say around Bielefeld. As i saw some mushrooms and thought might be edible. Since I never picked anything till now, I thought i might post some pics to share. I don't really need id for sure, but I am out of money and I'd like to eat something except fruits form the road. So just in the grass. Nothing particular about the habitat. May have been some wooden fences around but not really under the mushrooms. Some guesses are very apreciated. Thank you

These were close to a pine tree:

From Germany with LOVE!

I see trees of green, psylocibe mushrooms too
I see them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself what a wonderful world

These look like Hypholoma capnoides, but I don't want to rule out H. fasciculare (a poisonous species), so I don't recommend eating them.

These are a Paxillus species.  Poisonous.

I cannot tell what the others are for sure without some detailed photos of the mushrooms at all angles.  This means that you will need to pick them in order to get good photos.

Also, you need to fill out the required info for ID Requests:

Quote:

Habitat:
Where does it grow? Eg. woods, pasture, state, province, country, altitude, etc. What does it grow on? Eg. soil, dung, wood (dead, living, what kind of wood?), etc.

Gills:
Color, attached/not, gills/pores, etc.

Stem:
Length, diameter, color, texture, hollow/solid, thin/thick, etc.

Cap:
Diameter, color, texture, conical/spherical, convex/concave, etc.

Spore print color:
Very important!

Bruising:
Color that the mushroom bruises, if any.

Other information:
Scent of the mushroom, anything else you think is important, large close-up pictures showing stem, cap and gills.

I see some Lactarius, and probably Hypholoma fasciculare.  And Amanita muscaria.  2 and 3 may be Hebeloma.

I do see some suspect Hebeloma, but totally unsure.

Not sure about the Lactarius...  Are you referring to the two before the Paxillus photos?  I don't see any latex where he peeled back part of the gills.

1, 2, and 3 appear to be one Lactarius species, and 6, 7, and 9 a smaller one.  I am less sure about the first ones since they don't have a zonate cap.

I took another picture of the 2 mushrooms that seem to be eateble. They have kind of a latex and a kind of hairy.

Habitat:
They were groing on soil with green grass near a bush.

Gills:
white

Stem:
Length, diameter, color, texture, hollow/solid, thin/thick, etc.
Very tiny, maybe 2 cm in length and 1 in width.

thank you again!

Any birch in the vicinity? It looks like lactarius torminosus, which can only be consumed with proper preparation and, therefore, with extreme caution.

my suggestion is to look for species that do not have gills that are edible ... like boletus and hen or chicken of the woods.

I am not sure what Lactarius species that is and I wouldn't suggest eating random Lactarius, unless you don't mind puking.

Taste a bit and see if its peppery.

Looks like Lactarius pubescens, which is very spicy!
