GA Find, rainbow colored
    #11233613 - 10/12/09 04:38 PM (8 years, 2 months ago)

I was walkin around today and found this crazy as mushroom. It's blue and green and red and crazy. Unfortunately it's raining so the mushie is wet and mushy on the inside.

It's about 6 inches in diameter, convex cap. The cap is pretty sturdy but slimy slick.

The top of the cap is reddish on the outside and heavily blue green and purple going inward. It seriously has every color of the rainbow on it.

The gills are also predominantly red with blueish spots.

The stem broke when I went to pick it up.

It was in tall unkempt grass behind a neighborhood tennis court surrounded by pine trees and some other trees.

I'll post pictures when I get home.

It smells like fresh carrots.

Guessing they're Lactarius deliciosus.

I dunno either, but I gave her a shot. They sure are trippy looking though. Maybe play them some Hendrix. :smirk:
