Habitat - pasture with copses of trees in the Texas hill country, around 1500 ft above sea level. growing in cow dung
Gills - white, attached? gills
Stem - white, 2 stems about 1"-2" long and 1 cm in diameter are joined at bottom
Cap - 2 caps, 1" and 1/4" in diameter, tan/white, soft, smooth, conical, concave
Print color - light brown, tan
no detectable color change from bruising

hard to say from the picture but I would guess psathyrella sp, possibly conocybe

I am pretty confused.  Are you sure the print color was tan?  Are you sure it was growing directly from cow dung?

If that print color is correct, consider the genus Inocybe.

What does it smell like?

Its not active or edible.

I've found those before in Kentucky by the hundreds in Cow dung.they are hard to pick without them falling apart.
