I'm H1N1 Positive
    #11233107 -

This is some hype, i feel like a have a minor case of the flu.  Fever, anorexia, head ache, cough and a little nauseous too.  It is part of my schools policy that i don't go to class if i am knowingly positive.  But i really could go about my daily routine.  Some advil, constant cannabis use and sleep should have me feeling better.

haha, so you don't actually know tho...

I've got a fever of 100.6, sore throat, head ache, achy all over, and chills.  I'm still going to class anyways, or at least one of them because I have a math test wednesday and a review for it today...

correct me if I'm wrong but anorexia technically isn't a temporary symptom of a sickness, that's an actual disease...

I am using it here to state that i have no hunger.  Not that i have an eating disorder.  Doctors use this term to describe the feeling of not being hungry to eat, or not eating.

Cog_Shift is correct...

"Anorexia" Nervosa is simply the most popular usage of the word.

Doctors probably use "loss of appetite" so people don't get confused and think they have the mental condition!

Here are the latest flu reports.

This is a virus new to humans. It is not bright to automatically think your immune system will kick it's ass.

If this is nothing to scoff at, why are normal healthy people dying from it instead of their immune system fighting it off?

This is 100% a genetically engineered virus its so obvious.

How do they already have a vaccination for a "new flu" when it usually

takes several years to develop a vaccine. My theory is that it was

released earlier this year as a beta test to see how we would react

and now that it is prime flu season there will be an all out hype fest

aimed at getting you to take the vaccine which contains the REAL virus

that mutates and spreads. hmmmmm maybe you've been watching a little to

much news.

The data from the first two links is at least 5 years old.

I guess a virus that can kill a healthy soldier that just passed a rigorous physical examination within 48 hours is just the media starting shit again.

19 children died this week from the flu. 16 of those children had h1n1. I guess it's all a hoax though right?

Quote:
The proportion of deaths attributed to pneumonia and influenza (P&I) based on the 122 Cities Report has increased and now exceeds what is normally expected at this time of year. In addition, 19 flu-related pediatric deaths were reported this week; 16 of these deaths were confirmed 2009 H1N1 and 3 were unsubtyped influenza A and likely to be 2009 H1N1. A total of 76 laboratory confirmed 2009 H1N1 pediatric deaths have been reported to CDC since April.

Quote:
Almost all of the influenza viruses identified so far are 2009 H1N1 influenza A viruses. These viruses remain similar to the virus chosen for the 2009 H1N1 vaccine, and remain susceptible to the antiviral drugs oseltamivir and zanamivir with rare exception.

Quote:
Thirty-seven states are reporting widespread influenza activity at this time. They are: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Tennessee, Virginia, Washington, and Wyoming. Any reports of widespread influenza activity in September and October are very unusual.

The guy was a 25 year old soldier that had an excellent physical condition. If this virus is as harmless as you all imply, why would there be a need for a vaccine in the first place? Surely the human immune system can fight a new deadly flu strain.

Vaccines are just a concoction of dead/dying viruses that aren't strong enough to kill us, but allow our immune system to become acquainted with it.

while the CDC claims there was only 500 until august

the wiki that was updated today claims 900 in the US, less than 5000 world wide

Sorry bud, both those organizations stopped counting individual cases, so this entire post is kinda useless.

are you not understanding any of this?
the flu kills
h1n1 flu kills
the flu kills more people than h1n1 has

if the regular flu kills 30k people in the US each year, 90% of those are not
in the best of health, that means that 3000 of those people are healthy

http://nextbigfuture.com/2009/04/regular-flu-deaths-in-usa-in-2009.html
Quote:
There have been 820-987 deaths each week from the regular flu in the 122 cities that are in the center for disease control tracking system.

Quote:
Vaccines are just a concoction of dead/dying viruses that aren't strong enough to kill us, but allow our immune system to become acquainted with it.

I thought this was common knowledge.

must be why everyone develops those flu like symptoms that las as long as the flu

lol... so the World Health Organization and the Centers For Disease Control stopped counting, then why would you cite them
http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/11238194#11238194

who provides the data for the news and that other link or are they just
fabricating the numbers because it was you that cited a mere 302 people
in the US dead from the h1n1 flu while all these other show far more

Re: I'm H1N1 Positive [Re: Prisoner#1]

No, I think that you are not understanding.

The flu kills.
h1n1 kills.
Numbers aren't accurate at this time, but sources state two things;
  • The flu outbreak is worse this year.
  • Most of those flu cases are indeed H1N1.

Here is another fun fact.

This week, 19 children died from the flu. 16 of those children had H1N1.

I have quoted several sources regarding this subject.

If you have any logic, I suggest read more about this, don't just scoff at it and claim it's a fucking hoax dude. It's taking peoples lives, more so than the seasonal flu is and it's affecting a wider range of people, healthy people.

You get my point, if not, oh well. You'll get sick sooner or later.

EDIT:

Because I cited them before I read that they had stopped counting due to the overwhelming amount of cases.

Quote:
As the virus quickly spread globally, clinics were overwhelmed by testing and treating patients, and the WHO and the U. S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) eventually stopped counting all cases and focused instead on tracking major outbreaks. In early June 2009, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the outbreak to be a pandemic, but also noted that most of the illnesses were of moderate severity.

*the media reports state

I can accept a 'numbers arent accurate' but to have a variance of 1300
cases with the WHO reporting the highest, some h1n1 site owned by
someone in the czech republic that hasnt been updated since july being
the lowest yet even with the current information the regular flu kills
an average of more than 700 people per week and the h1n1 strain is
supposed to be so much more devastating? the regular flu season hasnt
even started yet, that's not until mid november

wow... did you know that 13000 people have died from the influenza A
virus from january to april of this year, that's 800 per week, 2 weeks
of it is the equivalent of the total death tol reported in the US for
h1n1 for the entire year

flu-A has killed more people in shorter time spans this year alone and
they're making a huge deal out of the swine flu, I suggest you do some
reading on something other than what the media is pushing to panic people

Quote:
Because I cited them before I read that they had stopped counting due to the overwhelming amount of cases.

lol... overwhelming when they simply pull the data from the CDC, WHO and a couple of other sites, it's called laziness, they simply didnt feel like a weekly update or a daily update... read their data

let's look at the numbers from the wiki link, the big lavender sidebar

Worldwide (total) 4,699 +195 (4%)
North America 920‡ +13 (1%)‡

and the fine print
‡The USA introduced a new reporting system on August 30, 2009
in which localities are not required to discern between pandemic and
seasonal flu.[2] Since then, the ECDC has no longer been updating
the USA number.

well... I'm guessing that these new deaths this week may have a little bit of a skew as to what's causing them

bigboi, I'm in my 40's and have been in close contact with 2
different people that have h1n1 and have yet to come down with it

this bug is no worse than the regular flu
I have been skeptical of this thing from the beginning

there has been way too much hype over it
they are pushing this vaccine way to hard
for my taste and it kinda makes me :paranoid:

I haven't had a flu shot since I left the military 20 years ago and do not feel any special need to now

you're a fucking fool buddy, you do realize 250,000 - 5000,000 people die EACH YEAR from the regular flu?

so what's your point?  unless the swine flu ends in a fatal pandemic, I'm NOT getting a vaccine.

you're lucky you survived... if you'd have gone to the doctor you could
have died due to double misdiagnoses regarding the flu... or could it be
that she didnt actually contract it until after the initial tests were run
