Day has clouds, sun, and nature.
Night has shadow, mystery, and more hallucinations (your mind has to make up some of what it can't see).

It's a matter of personal preferance. I prefer night. I get more wild visuals that way.

Definitely night. It's very quiet, dark and peaceful, so you can get to know yourself without interrputions. Thr trips are much deeper and more profound.
Daytime has lots of people, bright light, people banging on your door, too much noise to drown the inner voices.
I suppose it depends upon what you want from a trip. I love the deep personal experiences so i trip at night on my own when i won't be disturbed. Others don't want that for one reason or another, so they surround themselves with noise, people and bright lights in order to distract their minds to the external. So what are you after, the internal or the external?

The sunlight really hurts my eyes in the day. But the leaves move like camera shudders, and look like flocks of green birds. I prefer night. I like the emptiness of shadows and images my mind makes for it.

I prefer dosing 2 hours before sunset, that way I get the best of both worlds, and there's a good chance you'll see a hella cool sunset while you're peaking.
That said, 90% of my trips take place late at night, it's just a more convenient time.

well its going to be in a cabin out in the mountains/ isolated.. so there really wont be any noise except nature during the daytime... but it seems like it would be fun to venture into the woods and to be able to see eveything.. dunno

Ooh, choices. I went camping up to the Adirondacks in 93, those are nice mountains. Didn't have any shrooms though. That place would have been lovely on shrooms - day or night. What mountains are you going to?
Take the shrooms so that the half way point is either dawn or sunset. Or take a lot of shrooms with you and just keep on eating them so you stay up all night and all day. 
Whatever you do, have a nice one.

I love shadows too. I can lose myself looking into a good shadow for ages when i'm tripping, especially the shadows made by flickering candles.

ah the great old smokey mountains eheh, hoping for snow and cold weather :] im thinking of more along the night now, but ive just never really had an 'outdoor' daytrip :P i will make sure to post a message about our experience.. 7 days and a few close friends for 10 years

Tripping during the day in the summer is sooooooooo good. Especially if your smoking weed outside when the mushrooms are just starting to hit you. Its really amazing seeing the world change from normal to shroomie

I've shroom almost exclusively at night. I pretty much stay up late on weekends, wait til no ones awake and shroom. I get everything I need and have a blast in my room. I can't wai til summer though. I have shroomed outside before, in my treefort. I have a little mini skatepark in my backyard, ahh good times. It was kinda late though. I can't wait til the day where it's nice and hot out, no one to worry about, no job to have to go to, no work, no company business. ah........... Now I really want to shroom in the day in Summer.

Tripping on a nice summers day is awesome.. the world is just so bright and clear, like it's just been washed, and clouds look extraordinary
Of course night tripping is great too, but daytripping is underrated.

i trip at night, during the day there are too many things to take your mind away from the drug, it is much harder to reach ego-death or higher levels of a trip with so many distractions. I usually eat my mushrooms when dusk is falling so i can still find a good tripping spot and get settled in
none of my daytime trips have been good, i am a night person, i hate the day so i think that might be part of it, i am also an introvert and i really dont like being around people so night is also good in that sense,
it really is a matter of personal preference, i think it depends on the person and what they wish to gain from the trip
