Help Me Shroomery Is this Cobweb or Mycelium? HUGE PUFF CLOUD?!?!

Hello

I was checking my monotub and noticed this HUGE cloud puff of white mycelium

At first I thought it was cobweb but upon research they say it's usually grey and this is white

It is 10 days Colonozing temps have been around room temp 70's never had a monotub do something like this so this is a first

Please help me out

What is this?? Is this normal or contam?? Anyone experience something like this?

I would wait for a more experienced member to confirm this. But in my opinion, the large puff cloud is cobweb. It is spreading rapidly, and in your pictures there are smaller areas of healthy mycelium. Notice how the healthy growth is whiter and more rizo or strand-like.

I have 5 jars PF Classic in the brf PF cakes. They are completely white all around, but around the middle they appear to have some of this same white fluff. It is completely white. i took one jar out and it fruited a huge cluster of shrooms, but at the base of the shrooms was the same white fluff. It reminds me of what a diaper looks like when its wet....
I dried the shrooms, but didnt eat them....(for experiment sake....)

Is there any way to know if my 5 jars are good??? They are completely white, o ther than the layer of fluff around the middle. The fluff is white also, not a hint of color.....

BTW, the jar i fruited using the dunk and roll looked fine, the fluff wasnt large and didnt extend far from the cake. How can i tell if they are good to fruit????

I Agree! that's def cobweb. Sorry bro. But if you want, you can try to salvage it by spraying it with some 4%-6% peroxide.

Yea I think you let the cobweb mold go too long. I doubt you can save it now... I've had it a few times, but luckily I catch it within the first day of signs... I just misted it directly with h202/water and usually it clears it up within 2 days...

Next time I'd say keep a close eye on it and if you see signs give it a mist... Can't hurt anything (cept mold) :smile:
