Found in a pile of wood chips under a sweetgum tree
Gills: The gill color is dark brownish grey. The gills are attached.
Stem: Between tan and whitish, not too fragile, slightly enlarged at top. stems range from 1/2 cm to 2 cm wide. Stems were 2 to 4 inches tall, hollow but interior hollowed out portion not big as a percentage of total diameter.
Cap: Convex to convex umbonate. Tan to Light brown, smooth, not hygrophanous, 1 to 3 inches in diameter. Sometimes cap is darker in the center.
Spore print color: A light brown color.
Bruising: No color change was observed.
Location: Picked in northern 1/3rd of Georgia
Smell: the odor is "mushroomy"
no juice was present upon breaking.
These were growing in a group close to each other, but no mass or "cluster" .
