International shipping

So my Swiss bank account managers ex-wife's son-in-law's high-school physics teacher's bastard step-child's dog's trainer's pet monkey is soon to be making an international move. He will be shipping (freight, on a cargo ship) 3 cubic meters of boxes, crates, guitar cases, etc, full of books, clothes, music equipment, furniture, a whole house full of shit from Asia to the US. This monkey also happens to have in the freezer a few ounces of homegrown psilocybin mushrooms dried in whole mushroom form. He wants to hide them deep within a few ziplock bags, inside a duffle bag inside a locked microphone case within a rack box within a shipping crate. He knows all about how to hide smells, etc. It will have to go through customs in a midwestern town in the USA. He is paying the shipping company to take care of the customs process. All of the crates and boxes will be shrinkwrapped together into one big cube.
How stupid are this monkey's plans?

Seems legit. Though I'm not expert.

I wish I knew. I'd imagine it will work.
Let us know how it goes.

The monkey informed me that the plan has been updated. A piece of rack gear (they are kind of like PC cases) will be unscrewed and the fungus will be placed inside of the case and it will be screwed back on. So even if everything is unpacked and opened and inspected, they will have to take apart all of the equipment to find anything.
The monkey thinks it's not a terrible idea.

No reason to worry about smells with mushrooms.
> This monkey also happens to have in the freezer a few ounces of homegrown psilocybin mushrooms
The chances of being busted are probably less than 1 in 10,000 if you do it right. But why take that chance? Mushrooms are easy to grow, and even if you had to buy them again they're only worth $75-$200 an ounce.
I sure as hell wouldn't risk a felony and prison time for a couple hundred bucks.
Give them away or sell them is my advice. They're easy to replace and not worth the risk.
If you really have to take them... powder them and make them into chocolates. Go to a candy store and get one of their boxes or wrappers to put them in.

I don't think monkeys are legally allowed to send their own cargo.

Sorry to resurrect this dinosaur thread, but the monkey wants to know about what the heat of a 40 day trip across the Pacific on a freight liner will do to the psilocybin. Anybody have any answers? The monkey knows that chocolate will undoubtedly melt, so he was going to grind them and put them in capsules. Will they even be of sufficient quality after 40 days on the high seas? There's no way to keep them cool.

There is no real way to make sure. Hopefully just the ambient heat wouldn't be enough to degrade them too badly.

Psilocybin and psilocin have a melting point somewhere around 170°C (>330°F). Transporting them overseas will do nothing to them. I prepare mushroom tea by boiling mushrooms in water for 45 minutes straight. Extracts most of the active compounds and loses no noticeable potency. All these scare stories about heat killing shroom potency are urban myths. Psilocybin and psilocin both oxidize (with psilocybin being the more stable molecule), so you want to keep them away from too much oxygen, but like I said, regular heat, even up to the boiling point of water, does no harm.

oh, and chocolates are a bad idea. customs, leo, dea etc are now on the lookout for that type of stuff. thc/psilocybin containing candy/chocolates are being found everywhere and the fuzz now knows that it's a preferred method of shipping.
just read a few of the recent dea micrograms and you'll see. be safe.

I'm starting to think that honey may be the way to go here. I'll let the monkey know that.

Nah, blue honey would look sketchy.
Powder it, cap it and put it in herbal supplement bottles. There are plenty of suppliments that look just like powdered mushrooms in capsules. Maca, echinacea, etc.

That is the way to go.
I gave a chick some powdered mushrooms before, and the cops got ahold of it and she told them it was ashes and they did not know what they were.
Thank god, I was growing them back in those days.

Its generally a bad idea to give a chick mushrooms. Unless she is eating them right there on the spot. In that case, its a pretty good idea.

No, you just don't notice the potency loss.

No, it's just basic scientific fact. For every 10C temperature increase reactions occur twice as fast, including oxidation.
You can argue that it isn't significant, but it certainly does happen.
