Question is how much (if any) fae do you give your monotubs during colonization.
None.
I use a trashbag. Open it a few times.
I tape the bottom holes, leave the top holes with polyfill or filter disk.
I open it frequently and or fan it.
I am a noob or none of the above.

I dont really bother but I see nothing wrong with a little extra air every now and then. I actually feed an aquarium air pump into some on a timer. Doesnt affect the RH at all and the constant air exchange will grow you some monster flushes.

I'm one of the 2 people who leave the top holes available for ge.
I would have thought that suffocating it would stall it, just like a cake in a jar.
I guess there's enough o2 in the tub to carry it all the way through.
Just for the record tho, leaving the polyfill in the top holes didn't lead to early pinning. I untaped the bottom holes and stuffed w/ polyfill and introduced light 10 days after spawning and got a nice flush.
Guess it doesn't make a lot of difference.
