ok well i know that shrooms are very heat sensitive and i wouldnt want to risk loosing there potency.  i have a food dehydrater and it has a temp range from 95-150, if i turned it all the way down to 95 would it still ruin my mushrooms.

i usually put my mushies in a oven at very low heat and slowly dry them while watching a movie smoking a bowl.:bigblunt:

95 is a perfect temp to dry at thats all I have even done and have had no potency loss

You couldn't possibly go wrong, even at 150. They are capable of withstanding hundreds of degrees without potency loss. It's a common misconception.

Just my 2 cents... I know most will disagree with me. But in my experience when I dried with a dehydrator I felt the shrooms were'nt as strong as when I dried them with some desiccant.

Again, thats just My opinion and it could be because I have a really old dehydrator with 2 settings. On and Off. :wink:

I just dry them in a desiccant chamber now. I figure I've waited this long to get the fruits, what's another 2 days? LoL

Formula: 0Someone asks this question like every week and there is even documents on the site to show you what to do (mushroom info at the top of the page to preserve mushrooms to drying).

I have found 135 degrees on a Nesco works well.  Potency + drying time seem right on.  After around a day in the dehydrator I put them into a container w/ damprid.  Excellent combo IMO

What is the advantage to drying them in the oven. if you want to eat them ASAP, just measure out weight times 10 (eat like 40 grams wet). If you want to keep them for later, then dry them, all you have to do is set them under a fan for maybe 24-48 hours and they'll shrink up real nice.
