What do you guys have in your personal libraries?
My student loan has gone in and I'm looking to buy some new books. I'm looking for things related to drugs / psychology / chemistry / [psycho]pharmacology / psychotherapy / theology / drug related mysticism.
I have quite a few books, like shulgin's, McKenna's etc. I'm just looking for ideas, before I rinse a load of someone else's cash .
I'm currently reading John Lilly's Center Of the Cyclone, it's a pretty decent book .

I have dmt the spirit molecule and the psychedelic experience for sale :shamelessplug:
but other then that I have quite a few - most of the "mainstream" ones if you will. mckenna/alpert/leary/
most are very interesting - but most also require a grain of salt while reading.

Most of the items on that list are in my library. And those that aren't should be

If you're at college, your school probably has access to a lot of electronic journals.
I would look at the actual, peer-reviewed research report for the DMT trials that Strassman produced. Might be interesting how different it is.

Yah Brave New World is high up on my list, so are William S Burroughs books .
I'm more interested in books that cover drug related psychotherapy / psychology (yes I have LSD psychotherapy ).
Either that, or some hard chemistry like pharmacotheon & p/tihkal .

read doors of perception if you havn't.
i think i've read it 4 times, and i still learn a lot more every time i read it. great mescaline/lsd "trip reports" involved.
and if you havn't read BE HERE NOW - that's my favorite book of all time. not really about lsd therapy, but great nonetheless.

- Shulgin's Tihkal & Pihkal - Burroughs' Junkie - Confessions of an English opium eater. haven't yet gotten through that one though. - Opium, A History by Martin Booth - Some miscellaneous stuff on cannabis - A comprehensive Dutch guide to the most popular modern mind altering substances - Some miscellaneous stuff, mostly on opium use and abuse, including also a book with a collection of academic articles on the use of different substances in different cultural settings. Very interesting, although not the best papers I've read on the subject. - Some of McKenna's stuff and Alpert et al.'s Psychedelic Experience.
Oh, and of course Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. And other more literary works such as The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test.
I think I've got probably 15 or 20 books in this category. I don't come across interesting stuff very often, as I mostly buy second hand from a local shop these days.
