Texas Identification
    #11224959 - 10/11/09 03:15 AM (14 years, 4 months ago)

Went hunting in a cow pasture and found all in cow dung. I have found cubensis in this field before and need some help identifying these. Thank you.

* Habitat: Houston, Texas Cow Pasture, found in cow dung

* Characteristics of the cap: concave, bell shaped

* Color that the mushroom bruises: the gills turning darker, bluish I think

* Scent of the mushroom: smells very similar to the cubensus i've taken before

Panaeolus antillarum unless there is definite blue bruising then I would say P. cyanescens.
Don't keep mushrooms in plastic bags, it ruins them!

I'm certain you have Panaeolus antillarum, not active but it is edible!
