The inner child is the feeling part of us. The sum total of the feelings of the wounded and the core self.
Within the wounded self is the lightness of the core self. But the wounded self doesn't know this lightness. Instead it abides by false beliefs such as i'm unable to defend myself, i'm not worth love, it is all my fault, etc... The wounded self thinks its core is darkness instead of lightness.
But the inner child is the guide. Through feelings it tells you what is right or wrong.
The core self projects feelings of joy, love and peace. But also natural feelings of sadness, loneliness, grief, outrage and fear for real danger. The wounded self projects feelings of depression, anger, hurt, neediness, emptiness, guilt, shame, blame, inadequacy and fear for imagined dangers.
Grief and sadness are telling you the loss of a loved one. Someone you really cared for. Anger and depression are telling you that you are not taking care of yourself.
Listening to these feelings and understanding what they tell you is taking responsibility for your feelings.
Almost there with the basics people! One more topic for today and from tomorrow we'll work with all these ideas more deeply... so hang in there and enloy the ride!
