Basic Psychology: False Beliefs
    #11225255 - 10/11/09 09:12 AM (8 years, 10 days ago)

False Beliefs

Whatever we believe that causes us fear and pain are lies.
We protect ourself through various addictions, and ways to control others and ourself.

Our wounded self has accepted false beliefs about ourself, others, the world, universe, etc...
We were very small and created these self-limiting beliefs as a result from difficult childhood experiences.

One major false belief is that w can control others or ourself.
Ofcourse we can control others and ourself but not without violating the free Core self.

For example:

You decided as a child you are unable to defend yourself.
You withdraw from people to protect yourself from engulfment like anger, agression, etc...
This may actually draw the attention even more to you, and so what you expected and feared actually happens.
Your false belief is reaffirmed.
You choose to protect from pain and engulfment and abandon you core self.
You end up feeling defeated because you are actually defeating yourself!

----

Anyone something on this one?  :backflip:

Whatever we beleive that causes us happiness is just as much a lie

I see what your saying, but what we really violate is the mental recognition of our core Self, as our mind is too caught up in trying to control.
We forsake recognizing our eternal nature for transient things...
the Real Core Self, is never violated, otherwise it could not be the core, or eve termed 'free'.
This is the core point, the core Self is never ever violated.

Hey man, how do you see the core self?

To me, it is the part of me that is based on my universal reality. The cosmic truth so to speak.
It's expression is a free and spontaneous being. It is the source of joy and amazement. It is how a human being expresses it's true nature.

How do you see the core self and its expression in the world?

EDIT: may i draw your attention to the post 'Basic Psychology: Core and Wounded Self'

Pretty much as you said, spontanious & natural, universal/cosmic
But truly, the core Self can never be expressed through any creation

Thats why its creation is so immense!

It can never be captured in a creation, or held onto, or gained or lost

We strive to manifest this reality, but it can & has never been manifested

Perfection exists not As the creation but within the creation

No? Isn't all of manifestation the expression of the Self or Reality? Isn't manifestation in its infinite forms an expression of Reality or the Self?

Hey, perhaps we are saying the same thing, but differently.

I say, all manifestation is an attempt to fully express Reality or Self.
You say, Reality or Self cannot be manifested because that's not its nature.

Isn't that saying the same? I say it tries, you say it can't.  :deal:
