Quinoa cakes?

Anyone used Quinoa to cake with. I just done three jars with 560ml verm, 180grams organic quinoa flour and 210ml water.
I also did three jars with 135grams organic BRF mixed with 35grams organic cocoa, 560ml verm and 210ml water. Someone mentioned using flavoured substrates so i thought i'd give this a go.
And i also did my first bag of millet. Busy day. Pressure cooker's been going like a steam engine.
They were all injected with 4ml spore water each, and are now sitting in my nice warm kitchen cupboard.
Any thoughts? I have no idea if the quinoa or the cocoa is going to work, but i have a health food shop next door to my house that sells loads of different organic grains and flours, so i'm going to work through them and see what happens.

Quinoa cakes are starting to colonise, I can just make out the little beginings of the mycelium spots.
The cocoa BRF is doing the same, although at this very early stage i have to say it doesn't look as good as the quinoa.
Can't see anything on the millet yet.
And I planted 20 Peyote seeds last night. Everything's on the go round here.

i think i used too much water and/or water go in during PCing (follow the directions closely unlike me). they are going really really really slow, colonizing mostly the top 1/3 of the jar.
i am trying an experiment with one jar. i opened the jar. the mycelium was colonizing the top verm layer which was moist (not supposed to be). so i wrapped the jar in foil but left the top open, and put the jar in a fruiting chamber. i'm hoping the top colonized part will begin to fruit while the bottom uncolonized part will dry out some and colonize faster. i'm documenting it with pictures, so i'll post my success or failure as it progresses.

My quinoa cakes are doing really well. They're about half covered in mycelium already.
The cocoa/rice ones are going very slow, but they are colonising though.
The bag of millet went all sludgy and waterlogged and began to smell weird so i've ditched it.
And my first ever casing is starting to fruit. Lots of pins growing up all over it.
Hope your cakes sort it out, but you may be better just starting a fresh batch.

yeah, i was just thinking about the "fresh batch" this morning. i still have another syringe. from now on when i read something like "The formula presented below will produce this awesome substrate, but if its altered it may be a disaster. Please follow the instructions very closely" i will heed the warning

The measurements i put up top are working ok. That's if you're making cakes anyway.
Good luck.

i found 50/50 = rye flour/quinoa flour to be a kick ass formula much better then either alone
