My jars are depressing!!! Please help

Ok...here is the deal. I am new to this hobby and I am having some issues with mixing my jars.
I have followed the PF TEK to the letter. I have also tried several different variations of mixing up my verm/brf. I have had a few jars that turn out ok, but some seem to expand and push up against the side of the jar after PC'ing at 10psi for 60min. Some jars come out pretty good but I did not pack them tight enough and they have cavities. I cant find that happy medium.
I am packing my jars fairly loose and they look picture perfect going in. But they look like sh@t coming out.
I am sorry, I don't have pics at the moment. I am sure most of you know what I am talking about. I followed the "BRF Cakes Method/Lets Grow Mushrooms!" video exactly. As well as the PF Tek for simple minds at fungifun.org.
Can you all post some tips as well as what your jars look like before and after PC'ing?
I have done some searching, but I just need a little reassurance from some fellow members.
Thanks,
AHM99

Mine look the same when they come out.
Sounds like water is getting in the jars.

Little bit more here....
Is it too much water content causing the expanding of the material on the jars? To much BRF? My Vermiculite is never sopping wet. I watched the RR video on doing BRF cakes last night very closely and I was really jazzed up because I thought I saw where some of my mistakes are. I was expecting an awesome turn out, but when I took my jars out of the PC this morning I was pretty upset to say the least.

You are not following pf tek to a 'T'. no where in there does it say to PC the jars. if you have a PC, use grain. People use BRF if they don't have a PC.

ok... donno where ya got that from.. for sure you can use a PC for BRF.
Both original and v2 of the PF Tek states to use either Steam or Pressure Canner.

me neither. Either way, PC for PF tek is a bit overkill.

just because you can do something doesnt mean you should.
first make sure you got your ratio of water right and let it absorb into the verm a bit before you load the jars. second, load the jars loosley.
are you covering the jar with foil to keep out water? if you want to use the PC you might want to take out the overpressure plug and rocker valve. don't worry about psi for brf jars.
practice makes perfect.
