Morchella Deliciosa

I recieved a print of this specie yesterday, and plan on attempting it.
Has anyone ever tried? I know them to be supposedly difficult. If anyone could give me some ideas, or pointers - I would really appreciate it. Starting with which agar medium you would suggest.
I have GG+MM and it covers morels, but doesn't give many specifics, other than they seem to like burnt land. However the burnt land also causes them to be inedible?? I didn't really understand what he was trying to convey.
thanks in advance

Those that were inedible were found immediately after a large fire and were covered with ash, the edibility is not a problem otherwise. Stamets advises that outdoor beds are made of a sawdust/ash mix. I have cultures of M. esculenta and M. angusticeps. First the mycelium is thin and grows very fast until it reaches the edge of a petri. After that it thickens and M. angusticeps turns dark. (exactly as described in GGMM). I inoculated some grain jars 2 days ago - first try.

I've got ten or fifteen 5 lb bags of ryegrass/potting soil fully innoculated. They've got a cool bit of sclerotia forming in em too. It's pretty damn exciting. I could post some pics here if you guys want. I can't wait to try to fruit these puppies.

Here is a guide of some description, I've never tried it so I cannot offer any advice. you've probably been here anyway, but in case you haven't:

Here are some of my pictures of Morchella angusticeps (black morel), that I got from Gao. Some cultures appear to form sclerotia:

Well... nice work man! congrats
i will be waiting more pics in the meantime, i hope u dont mind, i am using one of the pics with your nickname on bottom as a wallpaper on my desktop. I like that, is like sharing something cool, like spreading the info.
btw, i will be more than happy and obliged if i could also get a little piece of mycelium. So, if any of u wanna spread the myc all-over, please PM me. Perhaps we could find a good trade, some other myc perhaps.
Congrats once more... a dark mycelium can only be a fetish for a shroomer in looove

is this a 5:1 ratio of grain:soil or is it only grains? Rye?

Is that a multispore culture or is it a strain?

They're isolations from multispore innoc's. I sent him a few different samples, one of the M. agusticeps was a piece of microsclerotia (assuring a strain that produces lots of MS), as well as samples of normal active growth.
I'm going to take my camera in to the lab today, so I'll get a few pictures of some bags for you fellas in a few minutes.

OK, so here are some pics.
This is a pic of M. agusticeps innoculated a month ago with a single wedge of agar onto 5lbs of ryegrass and potting soil. You can see a lot of sclerotia formation in these pictures here. They start out white and turn yellow with age.
The mycelium is pretty damn vigorous...
M. esculenta. Grown on cheap birdseed and potting soil. Innoculated 11/16/02
Bags.
All of 'em.
Well folks, I'm planning on spawning a bunch of these bags to bulk straw and bran when finals are over. I'll post pics of that when I do it.

Wow Gao you're working in a real lab! These cultures are very vigorous, the jar in my picture was colonized in less than 1 week . It's a good thing to start morchella cultures from spores because they quickly loose their ability to form micro sclerotia.

In reply to:

It is just wheat grain, like for any other species. I will inoculate some sawdust now. Does anybody know a good substrate formula for preparing outdoor beds?
