are kits unsuccessful?
    #1121827 - 12/08/02 10:25 AM (21 years, 9 months ago)

Hey, I'm just getting started on this whole shroom thing and I'm buying a kit after xmas. But i read that the first time you grow shrooms, they don't have a high success rate and you might not trip. If not, will I need to buy another kit or create a new growing medium? Does anyone know about the results or quality of mushrooms grown in these kits?

dude, read the faq and save your money. kits are for retards, that's why they have a low success rate.

If I can pull off the PF Tek in MY place, then you can make it work at your local dump..

All above is pretty much right except for kits do work, it really just depends on you..If your doing it just to have some fast shrooms that you guys can shroom off of then go with a kit, if you are wanting to study mycology and make growing a hobby then you should build your chambers and grow your own per say...

Just my 2 cents

if you decide to buy a kit (which i think is a waste) and you are unseceful the first time they give u enough spores to do another flush. just go to the store and buy vermiculite and brown rice flour.

>> kits are for retards, that's why they have a low success rate.

I've been growing shrooms for quite a while now but originally got the bug by buying a kit. The kit was in the form of a pre made casing that I bought for about ?20 and I found it to be quite productive. I just took loads of spore prints from it and did some reading up on the subject and have never looked back since !

If using a kit will then lead a person on to the PF Tek and then on to more advanced mycology then I say hell yeah for kits

Just go out and buy the basic stuff, its real easy to do yourself. For me, growing mushrooms sounds easier then growing a plant (MJ in particular). Not that I would do or have done either.

chill out rhizo (part of the collective) . the thread was about mycobags, I think.

Sounds like a mixed poll result. My own personal jury (having never tried them) is still out.
