As per the title...

I've seen diff strains react differently.

Most of the time they will survive. Sometimes the pins kinda come loose as you're birthing it, and they stick back to the cake head first and grow upside down.

These mutants all resulted from a cake that pinned while soaking:

Thanks guys... I was afraid I could lose them so my only other option would have been to attempt to attach/ transplant them on some cakes in the martha... but according to RR they'll grow for 2 or so days and then abort.  Anyway, hopefully they'll survive!

Dont roll them again in verm just a 24 hour dunk, they should survive the process. Just remember you only roll in verm once and that at the beginning if you were to do it again you could knock off the little mushrooms that otherwise could have been saved

They've never been rolled in verm yet. This cake was just birthed and is being dunked as we speak. I'm sure that I can roll in verm and not harm the shrooms attached as long as I'm careful.  For all I know they'll come unattached while soaking in water.

Anyway, are you guys in agreement with what I just said? Another way of looking at it, I don't want to sacrifice the performance and success of a cake for 2 mushies growing on it that may or may not survive.

FYI, some of my other cakes I didn't roll the whole things and was able to take some verm and simply patch it on the exposed myc.  Anyway, thoughts?
