Wait wait wait, are you thinking of putting the WBS in a blender to make a slurry or a grain LC?

Although i may advise others in a general way regarding all types of mushroom grows, and may even post question from other forums about growing "active" mushrooms, i only grow non-"active" mushrooms and edibles.

yes you can, and later you can reuse the wbs jar for further expansion onto your substrate once it "fluffs up " again.
i have used this many times for my oyster cultures and it works great. must be done sterily to protect your mycelia from contams. since i always use my filter tops on my jars, it is not a problem going through the felt lid with needles and injecting sterile water, slooshing around and withdrawing the mycelia-laden water. very simple.
