They could be ok.  Test them out on some cakes and see what happens.. Spores can be viable for years

I agree with Slimz. Go to Th LC tek for beginners if you haven't already and try to knock up some lc first.

spore syrings will last many years when stored correctly so they should be fine.

I dont know why people are recomending LC to test out spores. It doesnt make any since incoualting something that your going to have to test to see if its good. So to test your spores out, youd then have to test out your LC after that.

You dont know what you have until you test out the LC on substrate, as moulds wont sporolate in liquid and it can be difficult to tell the difference between mould mycelium and cube mycelium.

Test your syringes out in some jars. But i reckon they will be fine after only a year and a half

ya obviously its not just a test for spores but it will get him alot further with the lc with the syringe is still good. Like they say once you inoculate with LC you never go back. Just trying to give the guy a suggestion. once it shows any sign of growth it just take off v.s. letting it germinate in the substrate which just takes forever -_-

Agree with veda LC are not the best way to go right off the bat because you can actually contaminate them easily.. Do Grain LC after you get a fully colonized jar.
