WEST VALLEY, Utah - Police said a 41-year-old man admitted to growing marijuana in his home to be considered a cool dad to his 17-year-old son. Police said that the father, Joseph Feichko, was irresponsible for growing pot, especially for one of his children. "That's a pretty serious offense and so there's some possibility of some substantial time to be served," said Lt. Dalan Taylor of West Valley Police.
An anonymous tip led police to the house near 6300 W. 3500 South. Inside the home, police said they found nine plants of marijuana, which is a small operation, but still worthy of jail time. Investigators say Feichko admitted that he was helping his son grow the pot and wanted to do it to be cool.
Neighbors said the family recently moved into the house they are now renting and are happy the operation was stopped. Sadie collings, neighbor
"It's not something that i think would be cool to show you're a cool parent," said Sadie Collings, a neighbor.
