I'm doing well. Thanks for asking!
I'm getting ready to go watch the film Who'll Stop the Rain. I love that film. It's based on a Robert Stone novel called Dog Soldiers -- a good read but not as good as his first novel Hall of Mirrors -- but at any rate it's a good film adaptation, and deals with the disillusionment of sixties ideal, and of course, one of my favorite subjects, heroin...
May I inquire as to how you are on this fine evening?

I finished my film. Always good!
I happened to notic in the credits that Robert Stone co-wrote the screenplay, which is always a plus when the novelist works on the screenplay. Probably why the movie is so fucking quotable. I wish I had a pen and paper handy! I had forgotten how good the dialog was, and the depth of the character development -- especially if you had read the novel. It was well done!
As a plus, afterwards, I channel flipped and caught part of "The Bear," which was a big film about 15 years ago when I was courting an important girlfriend of mine. It's a pretty cool movie about an orphaned bear cub who accidentally eats some psilocybin mushrooms and has a trip!
Now, my biggest decision are whether to drive 20 miles to the store to get more beer, or not. I got a drawer full of hash and dank bud, but I don?t like cannabis much, so I think I?m heading for brewskies!

That is always better than "bugs and drooze!"
Damn! I'm bored. I think I'm going to sign off. Kinda slow tonight -- like a slow boat to china or a sloe gin fizz...
I thought I'd look this up and share it with you all...
Quote:
Main Entry: sloe gin Function: noun Date: 1895 1: a sweet reddish liqueur consisting of grain spirits flavored chiefly with sloes
This, of course, begged the question. What the fuck are sloes? So I looked that up as well...
Quote:
Main Entry: sloe Pronunciation: 'slO Function: noun Etymology: Middle English slo, from Old English slAh; akin to Old High German slEha sloe and probably to Russian sliva plum -- more at LIVID Date: before 12th century : the small dark globose astringent fruit of the blackthorn; also : BLACKTHORN
I hope that clears that up for everyone...
