It looks like one of those movies I'd really enjoy seeing but only the first time.

The Blair Witch Project bored me and I think this one might do the same.

I totally agree with this. Even from looking at the trailers with the people reacting to the movie, you can tell that they were startled more than frightened. I hope I'm wrong though. Too many "scary" movies are like that now.

This movie looks like another Blair Witch Project...
Just because the trailer tells you it's scary, and shows you a fake audience being scared, doesn't mean it will necessarily be a good movie.

Which is why I am not making all the effort of driving 50 miles into the city just to see this movie. If it's really that good, release it nationwide. This is a big studio release by Paramount Pictures / VIACOM media giant. Why the limited screenings?
If it doesn't come to my local theater then I will simply wait until it's released on DVD and then watch it alone at home in the darkness, which might even be more

I think they're using a hype building strategy. If you look at their website they state that the movie will be released nationwide once 1,000,000 people demand it. It's at 600,000+ now, just last week it was at 500,000. We might actually be seeing this released in November. The question is, am I going to fall for the hype?
P.S. I loved Blair Witch Project

I'm jut very critical about movies nowadays.
So much shit coming out. Transformers? Explosions and special effects are no substitute for a plot...

I'm excited for this movie. According to reviews it really is scary and isn't the bullshit America has been putting out and calling "horror" lately. That's according to a lot of reviews.
95% of Rotten Tomatoes, that's very high.

Yeah i was about to say that. You don't really see ratings like that for horror movies nowadays. But the number seems to be going down. Last time I checked it was at 91%. Still, damn good rating for a horror movie

The demand it count is up to 800k+ now, so they'll likely give it a wide release. Pretty effective marketing imo, which I think says a lot about well made it is. I don't think the blair witch project could've held up using the same strategy.
