Has anyone ever been part of a street team? (live music promotion)
    #11204890 - 10/08/09 02:08 AM (8 years, 1 month ago)

I have recently looked into it and it seems to go to be true! For some bands like eoto if you hang flyer's up and can have proof you've done so they give you free tickets? where the hell have i been? I would love to get involved with free promotion, because eventually id like to go into advertising/ web page design and maybe i can put that shit on my resume or somehan... Any experience with this?

I registered with umphreys mcgee a few years ago. I just went to street team whatever. Sent em an email. They said theyde have me on list if they came to my town. When they booked a gig to my town theyde get in touch with me and send a bunch of shit over like posters etc. Ide have a ticket at will-call waiting for me. Simple as that

I was on the All Points West street team and it fucking sucked.

Poorly organized and the requirements to get free shit didn't seem worth it to me. The last thing I want to do after a concert is stand outside the door by myself handing out fliers. And they didn't ship the posters out, which would have been much much easier to deal with.

I'd do it again though, just not with them.

I was on the street team for a couple of bands back in high school. It was alright, I got a few free shows and hundreds of stickers/promo cd's to give away out of it.
