Let's say someone had some spare UVB (10.0) lights laying around. Would that suffice over some tubs in a closet for lighting fruits?

I'm out of my league here, but I don't think it would be a bad idea (at least for the pinning stage).  Natural sunlight spectrum what you want to go for and UVB is more radiation than light.  That being said, it would be interesting to see how it worked.

Try reading this and see how it makes you feel about UVB: http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/1723985#1723985

FYI UVB 10 is the "desert" type light. Appropriate for lizards needing a ton of the herbivore type sunlight (to help process plants the way that insectivores process bugs)...ill have to see how it works for a friend and update accordingly. I'd be surprised if it was negative...Those lights are pricey and do wonders simulating sunlight

:pm: me if you have questions about lasers

Although i may advise others in a general way regarding all types of mushroom grows, and may even post question from other forums about growing "active" mushrooms, i only grow non-"active" mushrooms and edibles.
