General security buying supplies

Ok so a friend of mine was wondering what might trigger attention buying supplies. If you order spores is it truly discreet (like past the point of a website's FAQ saying it is)? Also let's say someone goes to Wally world and buys all kinds of strange items. Baby bottles, tin foil trays, mason jars, etc. Are there any "triggers" like there are for other things (imagine buying 20 cases of benadryl or something)...
Just curious really. He's not overly paranoid but he's been thinkin man that's a lot of risk...

Take off your tinfoil hat. Nobody at walmart is smart enough to have a clue. Even if they did just man up and tell them to shut the fuck up and step off.
And if I wanted 20 cases of benadryl I'd go in and buy them. There's no law against buying a ton of benadryl.

The only thing you might need to worry about leaving a paper trail are spore syringes, which are legal in most states anyway. If you're paranoid, you can purchase them via money order or Visa gift card.

Lol tinfoil hat...come on man everybody knows "they" have ways around the hats now! Lol I know for sure nobody at Wally world is smart like that just curious if there was a system in place to flag certain things purchased together...in the case of benadryl, Johnny law does get notified here if you buy more than a certain number. But yeah, that's pretty far out there I spose ;-)

??? Benadryl isn't a drug of abuse in any sense and there's no DEA reporting threshold. If they did want to report it they'd be calling the cops telling them that someone bought a bunch of benadryl and the cops would be like "So? What do you want us to do about it?".
Perhaps you're thinking of DXM containing products like robotussin? As far as I know those are completely untracked. It only takes a bottle or so to fuck you up, and the only reporting threshold is on pure powder. So you can buy as much as you want.

I don't remember which types have it. Maybe I'm thinking sudafed whatever they use to make meth (I can't say that word without an obligatory "ICK")

Hell in my state, NC - you gotta show ID and sign to buy any quantity of sudafed.

You don't need to worry about buying mushroom supplies. Lots of people grow edibles. Lots of people order spores for microscopy. None of these people get heat for it.

Buying lots of sudafed will get you in trouble.
Meth making supplies may get you flagged at some places (buying a lot of matches and heet at home depot).

There are absolutely no triggers for the majority of items used to grow mushrooms. the only thing that would bust you would be buying all that together and acting creepy and suspicious while doing it. Even then, 99% of the people you would encounter would not have a clue of what you were up to.
The bulk of an associates training on suspicious behavior pertains to the purchase of meth lab materials and underage purchase of alcohol, cigarettes, and crap like BB guns and spray paint.
