Keeping my word=killing my friend?
    #11202971 - 10/07/09 09:36 PM (8 years, 11 days ago)

I have searched and searched and I think I can finally post this question without worrying that I am re-posting some info that's on here a million times already.

Any help is GREATLY appreciated.  I found some weilii Friday before last.

Some were fresh and some were already drying out where they were growing.  (already turning black)  Definitely not rotting though,  just drying out.

I took the fresh ones and made up about two cups of lemon juice extract.  I strained it and bottled it.

The half way dry ones I took and briefly put them in a bucket of sterile water and ran my fingers through the gills to get the spores outta there one at a time.  I then immediately removed each mushroom and placed them all (not touching) on a towel in a warm dry area of my home.

I then had a conversation with a fof who said that they wanted to try a weaker version of my extract.  The next morning I made up my mind to make their extract out of the less potent caps I had dipped in the slurry.

Most of the caps were fairly dry by then and some were still wet. All had turned completely black.  I then made his extract and placed it in the fridge next to mine.  His is green.  Mine is dirty yellow.

Well, I wasn't thinking much of it  but now he wants his "liquid pleasure" and being confronted with the possibility of someone actually drinking it has lead me to realize that I am not 100% certain of the safety of his drink.  Is it likely that it is contaminated?  Or am I being a prick and I need to just stfu and give him his drank already?

Please help me.  I don't want swim to die or have a horrible tripp.  But I don't want to break my word unless it's absolutely  necessary.
I did already tell him that the drink was his.
Thanks, guys.

If there's any question then I'd say it's pretty obvious.

Fuck your word.

Isn't that a risk you take without getting a good identification anyway? If you would drink it, give it too 'em. If you wouldn't, then pour it down the drain.

Sure it wasnt chlorphyllum moldybites? I know those turn green and lately lots of people have been mistaking these :frown: .

I know nothing about weilii but if your shit turned green tell him your sorry but it turned green and there is NO WAY that you would let even your worst enemy drink it. As stated above, FUCK YOUR WORD.

This shouldn't even be a question. If you wouldn't serve him moldy, rotting disgusting food, don't do the same with shrooms.

this should be a no-brainer

isn't he your friend?

you should think about what a friend is

If there were no rewards to reap,No loving embrace to see me through
This tedious path I've chosen here,I certainly would've walked away by now.
Gonna wait it out.
If there were no desire to heal The damaged and broken met along
This tedious path I've chosen hereI certainly would've walked away by now.
And I still may ... (sigh) ... I still may.Be patient.
I must keep reminding myself of this.

Would you drink it?  Don't give it to him otherwise.

Most likely will be fine imo, however you should leave it up to him.  Give him the straight up facts, people are wise enough to decide for themselves. If it were me.... Id drink it. :awebig: :mushroom2::thumbup:

Yep I am sure. I know the identifying keys well.  I checked each mush individually for these keys.  They were all weilii.  I also went through the entire batch and made sure they smelled, and felt okay (not slimy or stinky)
Rest easy, no green gills here.:regularshroom: No rotten shrooms either.  Thanks for pointing that out though.

In my head it was a "no"  But after hearing the wondermous stories I told of my weilii trip,  friend asked me (really begged and made me feel like shit is more like it) to check with my "shroom family"  Before I ditched the drink.

Like I said I was simply hoping someone would tell me I was being a complete douche, that it was perfectly normal for extracts made from already severely blue/black shrooms to turn green and I shouldn't rob my friend of the experience.

I was actually just hoping some trusted identifier/cultivator/poster  would laugh me into a corner and say I was being overly cautious (which I always am)  and tell me to give my friend the drink it was cool.  (which I still may not have listened to.)

Now that he is not texting and talking at me like crazy about "being sure throwing it away was the right thing to do"(lol)  I can see that posting this thread was, well....No it wasn't pointless.  bc

Now YOU CAN READ IT SWIM!!  and see that I am not the only uptight "mom type" out there that doesn't feel like dying or watching one of her friends die.:iloveyou:

BTW nicely put Gym. :jah:

I didn't mean to sound like a dousche I was just saying, what I would do. I'm glad you pitched em though, because even if it most likely wouldn't have been fatal, what if it was. Like it's just not worth it imo.
